Screenplay :

The very day of his wedding, Valentin Le Barroyer can see the one he was supposed to marry go away.

Helen has always loved her cousin André, which displeased her aunt who had arranged this failed marriage.

The two lovers take refuge in Dordogne at Helen’s grandmother who thinks they’re husband and wife.

It’s too late when Valentin finds the young couple; he’s nothing else to do than console himself with one of Helen’s friend.
